Wordpress is the best blogging platform so far for everybody because it gives you much options and much freedom of controlling your blog you can use plugins which is the most lovely thing in wordpress and it has a really big community of themes plugins support and more it also has a better commenting system that can be no way compared to blogger, and it offers a wide range of programs that gives you more ways to make money online easily

So if you are still on blogger I advice you to move as fast as you can because moving from blogger to wordpress is becoming harder as days pass i have somehow managed to move my blog successfully and safely from blogger to wordpress so as my friend from bloggingmix and i am going to share this big secret with you that can change your blogging path.

What you will need?

* At least 3$ in your paypal account for hosting.
* Basic knowledge about wordpress installation.
* A blogger blog on a custom domain.
* Patience!

After making sure you have these 4 things i have listed above let’s get started by the step by step guide.

STEP1- Importing Posts from blogger to wordpress:

The very first step is to get your hand on importing all your blogger posts to wordpress and I will explain how to do it.

1) Head over to wordpress.com and create an account and a blog it can only take 5 mins.

2) In your admin panel go to Manage>>Import and select blogger and after that click authorize.

3) It will take your to a new page in Google to verify whether you accept wordpress accessing your blogger account click Grant Access.

4) You will be taken again to your admin panel again where you will see your blogger blogs and the number of posts and comments they have just click import near the blog you want to be imported and watch the magic.

5) After that click on the button set authors and you will be taken to a page where you will set the authors just set your name you want and continue and save everything.

6) Then go to Manage>>Export and download your wordpress backup file it is an XML file where it contains all your posts, comments, fields and more this is the file you will need for importing posts later in your wordpress blog.

STEP2 Get your blog back to .blogspot:

Now its time to take the redirection from your domain name, just go to options publishing and click switch back to .blogspot

STEP3-Getting your hands on a Web Host:

i am currently using the starter hosting plan and it is doing great i advice to take pro it is the best for blogs but i chose starter just because I was giving it a try i will upgrade next month so after ordering your blog host it takes around 24hours-72 hours to get your blog hosting account ready they will send you an email once it is finished the email will contain many important information like your control panel user and pass all of them are important so after getting the email follow my steps below:

1) Go to your Domain registrar and change your name servers to (It will be given in the email):

NameServer1: ns1.visionthishosting.com

NameServer2: ns2.visionthishosting.com

Note: Changing your name servers with are important otherwise the whole process will go wrong.

SETP4-Installing Wordpress:

Now comes the fun part you will now need to install wordpress in your domain name.

In the email you got you will find a URL of your control panel it is usually www.example.com/panel or www.example.com/cpanel if it’s not then login to your visionthishosting account, before entering to your control panel they will ask for the user name and password they will be located in the email once you are logged in to your control panel follow these steps:

1) Head down and you will find a small smiling icon called Fantastico or Fantastico La Deluxe click on it and it will take you to a new page.

2) In that new page look at the left sidebar and you will find wordpress click on it and it will take you to a new page

3) You will see the list of your domain names click on the one you want wordpress to be intsalled on and and click new installation and it will take you to the wordpress installation page.

4) In the wordpress installation they fill up the space with all your information and then click install wordpress and it will take you to step2.

5) In step 2 just click finish installation and you will be taken to a page where it will give you the URL of logging in it is www.example.com/wp-login.php wordpress is now installed

Note: If you can’t see your blog at www.example.com/ it will be in www.example.com/index.php for some while this is because the period of preparation wait for 24-72 Hours and your blog will be fully ready and everything should be fine in www.example.com/ if not contact Visionthishosting staff and i am sure you will find help!
STEP5-Getting your blogger posts back:

Now I am sure that you have the XML file that i told you to export it from your wordpress.com blog back in STEP1 so login to your admin panel at www.example.com/wp-admin.php then go to Manage>>Import and select wordpress it will ask you to upload the XML file, upload it and the magic will start! All your posts and categories will be transferred to your blog.

STEP6-Deleting your blogger blog:

It is now the time to delete your blogger blog to avoid duplicates content so just head over to your .blogspot blog and delete it.

STEP7- Maintaining your permanlinks:

This is the easiest step just go to Options>>Permanlinks and move it from Default to custom and enter, after that save and you are done have fun with your new wordpress blog!!

What if i am still in blogspot?

If you are in a .blogspot and not on a custom domain then what you should do is move your blogspot blog to a custom domain then wait for at least 1 month and then follow this tutorial if you don’t know how to move to a custom domain follow this tutorial Move your blogspot to your own domain with ease
